The municipal industry is focused on supporting the function of a city government. Our Municipal Salary Survey takes into account jobs within that industry.
Please take this survey on a desktop computer.
We open data collection every year from October to April. Participation is solicited through mail, email, and online questionnaires.
After we have collected all salary data, our experienced team of researchers thoroughly screens each submission prior to inclusion in a survey. No attempt is made to alter incumbent data as reported other than to normalize collected compensation amounts to a common date.
Once our municipal data have been thoroughly inspected, we publish all results in a summary report for customers to use.
Salary surveys allow organizations to regulate their compensation standards. Salary surveys consider things like industry, size, and location to create a more accurate source of compensation than the web.
Salary surveys also help you stay competitive with your total compensation packages. Third-party salary surveys break down total compensation and have lists of participating companies to ensure accuracy in your industry.
A good salary survey will allow companies to accurately price their jobs and decrease the risk of possibly underpricing their employees. Turnover rates can cost as much as 60% of a former employee’s salary. Staying up to date with market pricing will ensure employees are being paid fairly and lower the risk of employee turnover.
Good salary survey data is heavily vetted to ensure it is accurate. Our salary surveys are reviewed by a team of Ph.D. statisticians to ensure that our surveys have quality and consistent data.
